Internships And Volunteer Opportunities - Russia

We are specifically looking for a candidate who has a strong interest in HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and other healthcare issues, or who are eager to learn about non-profit management, communications, and philanthropy. Candidate will be offered an opportunity to work with professional, young, motivated staff in an innovative and forward-looking organization. Through activities at GBC volunteer get exposed to inner working of international NGO and opportunity to participate in organizational events.

Required skills and experience:

  • Proven interest in HIV/AIDS and other healthcare issues;
  • Good cross-cultural communication skills;
  • Can-do attitude, flexibility, adaptability and a commitment to work within a team;
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English and Russian
  • Diplomacy in interpersonal professional settings.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including MS Word and Internet;
  • Ability to work 15-20 hours per week

GBC internships are generally unpaid.

Policy Program
Policy Program of GBC Moscow office, seeks volunteers willing to explore HIV/AIDS policy work and to join efforts with our dynamic team in addressing HIV/AIDS in Russia.
Volunteers through activities at GBC get exposed to HIV/AIDS policy resources and will enjoy opportunities to develop their knowledge and networks within such multi-aspect, challenging and socially significant area as HIV/AIDS. In the framework of the Policy Program, selected volunteers will provide general support with:
Assistance in event arrangements (printing, copying, faxing invitations etc.);
Distribution of printed informational materials (labeling envelopes, mailing, hand delivery etc.);
Data entry and database updating;
Media monitoring.

Media Partnerships
The Intern provides substantive support to development, implementation and evaluation of the Media Partnership program of GBC Moscow office. In the context of the Media Partnerships, the Intern helps to mobilize key media companies, consumer products companies, non-governmental organizations and government institutions in an unprecedented joint initiative in the fight against AIDS, which includes a national HIV/AIDS awareness campaign and educational and training activities for journalists. The Intern also helps to develop innovative approaches and practices for various media and consumer products companies to actively engage in the fight against AIDS.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and create dossiers on potential partners/supporters for the Media Program,
  • Conduct research and gather information for:
  • Sample creative approaches to HIV-related editorial content and programming;
  • Sample materials (tests, quizzes, games, interviews etc.) for Campaign website (www.stopspid.ru);
  • Work with the Project Team to regularly update and maintain the Stop SPID website and the RMP project pages of the TPAA corporate website;
  • Work with the Project Team to prepare campaign updates/reports/presentations;
  • Conduct regular media monitoring;
