Report "Abandoned Children Born to HIV?positive Women: Analysis of the Situation in Russia" aims to provide Russian political leaders, as well as all concerned, with information on issues related to HIV transmission from mother to child and abandonment of children born by HIV infected women. The Report discusses reasons for such abandonment and formulates suggestions related to the reduction of the number of children left without parental care. The publication also looks at the consequences of child abandonment and defines measures necessary to alleviate these children's living conditions and to maintain their future.
